One of our grads, Shirley Bell, has a poem in The North 52 AND she is a Poet of the Week on the Poetry Super Highway (Facebook group) – “online during the week of June 23-29… and then forever thereafter on the Past Featured Poets archive section.”!
Our alumni go on to pursue a number of careers. Nick Beaumont has struck out into online commerce:
Forever Bag is my first independent venture into e-commerce since graduating from the fantastic MA in Creative Writing at the University of Lincoln in 2012. Based in Manchester, our small team work with some top class manufacturers to offer beautiful, design-inspired bags at low prices.
We’re constantly growing our catalogue and our fashion-loving community, and hope as many people as possible can get involved! We’re currently offering free delivery and a 10% discount for anyone who likes us on Facebook, so check out our website: http://www.foreverbag.co.uk, and our Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/foreverbag to see our latest blog posts, offers and competitions.
Great news from Victoria McDonagh, who has just graduated on the 2011 – 2012 MA:
“I’ve just signed my first contract for paid writing work!
I will be working for a company called Bough SEO based in London. I’ll be writing a series of pieces for eBay, advising people how to buy a wide variety of items – from hub gears to treeless saddles.
The Masters degree really helped open my eyes to what opportunities are available to writers. I feel more confident in my writing abilities since I finished the MA. I consider it a good start to 2013 with my first paid writing job under my belt.”
We can’t guarantee romance here on the MA in Creative Writing at Lincoln, but it certainly worked for these two: Melanie Montano (USA) and Dan Lavey (UK), who are pictured at their graduation this week.
Congratulations to both of them!
